Methods for Homemade Soap Recipes
Most methods to make homemade soap at home are very easy.
One of the many easy homemade bar soap recipes that is perfect for beginners is the melt-and-pour method. Pre-made bases can be purchased in many craft supply stores. Begin by melting the base in a double-boiler or a microwave. Then stir in any essential oil or fragrance you choose. Finally, add colorant if you so desire, and pour into molds.
Glycerin bar soap can be made at home using this same melt-and-pour method. To get your homemade glycerin soap recipes, just replace the base with glycerin, which can also be purchased at a craft store.
Homemade liquid soap recipes are also very simple. One method involves grating a bar of soap, then heating it with distilled water to form liquid soap. If you prefer to start with your own ingredients rather than using a bar of soap, try this:
Distilled water – 1 c.
Liquid castille soap – 3 tbsp.
Vegetable glycerin – 1 tsp.
Tea tree oil – few drops
Simply combine all ingredients and pour into your soap dispenser. The tea tree oil acts as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent. You can also add a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.
